Plan, Record, Succeed

Written By: Hope Jennings

These are the words that sums up goals...the importance of setting concrete goals and also tracking them consistently is what helps you actually achieve them. Having a structure around a goal is paramount to creating a path to reach them!! This post is inspired by my good friend, Meredith. While I've watched you not only start from scratch with two amazing blogs, I'm also watching you build two businesses of your own from scratch yet again. You're an inspiring stay-at-home-single-mama, who is extremely gifted with many talents. Both of her personal companies, she doesn't talk about too often, but she's truly gifted. Plus, her teams (staff members) are full of very inspirational individuals from all over.

What To Do When You Don't Feel Successful

Written By: Deanna

I think there comes a point where everyone doesn't feel successful. I can't tell you what that might mean for you, but for me, I know it speaks up when I don't feel like I've been "productive" enough. I know some people who get that feeling when they see their friends succeeding. When I was younger, I used to feel it because I was home-schooled and a lot of my friends went to school - seeing them get good grades made me feel unsuccessful because I wasn't graded.

The Topics of August 2016

So, if you've been following along these last few weeks, you would have noticed that all of the writers, myself included have taken the time to write about the same topic with our own points of views, experiences, recipes, etc. The posts run in a line, but the writer's are in a different order each week. If you have been following along, thank you. If you haven't been following along, no worries, you can go back and read about our other two topics about morning routines and what's inside our makeup bags.

By clicking on each of the names below, you will be redirected to each of their posts for that particular weekly topic.

How Deanna Stays Motivated

Motivation is a big deal these days. Working from home and doing everything that I do (I often juggle 4-6 jobs), I get asked a lot about motivation. But the truth is, there is another guest blogger here at On Your Mark who is a much better expert on motivation. Shout out to Tami, because I've read some of her articles and they rock!

What Fuels My Motivation?

For the last two days, you've read about what motivates my fellow writer's Tami and Shannon. Tomorrow, you will read about Deanna's motivation.

My motivation is channeled into two different areas. Everyone has different things that motivate them. I'm an inspirational quote junkie; my personal Facebook page is filled with them. I post hem mainly for me. While I may be in a good place this year or the year after, I may be down in the dumps and need some uplifting words that I posted today, for example.

How Do I Stay Motivated?

Written By: Shannon Boyce

We all have dreams. Goals. Ambitions. Things we want to do and achieve. The only downside? When those dreams, goals, and ambitions seems to be far off and impossible. Maybe you want to drop a dress size. Get a promotion at work. Start a new career. Find out who you truly are. These are all sorts of dreams! The things about making them happen? Some days are better than others. You might feel like everything is within your grasp at the start of the week, but by the time the weekend rolls around, you are less than optimistic. Motivation is the key. It will push you forward - even when you feel like giving up completely.

There are many things I want to achieve in my own life. I have fitness goals, career goals, and personal goals. Each one requires a daily commitment. Oh and plenty of motivation. Here are some of the ways that I stay motivated day in and day out.

What Motivates Me?

Written By: Tami Walker

When people ask me what motivates me, I usually draw a blank because I can draw motivation from so many different sources - motivational quotes, books that I read, my role models... It all sort of depends on what I'm being motivated to do and what-not.

But generally, in the biggest things that I do, my motivation usually comes from one (or all) of three main sources, which I'm sharing with you today!

Deanna's Routine - or lack of? My First Week!

So, Meredith asked me to write a blog post that is kinda challenging. I, of course agreed, and every time I went to it, I stared blankly at the screen for a long time. I asked myself dozens of times: What is my morning routine?

Day 36 ~ Rest Day, Grocery/Meal Planning & my Motivational Board

My main focus today, besides finally getting Mark to his Monkey Gym (My Gym) class, was to work on my Motivational Board. A few days ago, I posted a picture of it looking almost completely bare and after picking up somewhere around 20 magazines (give or take) from two women from the donation group, I've been pulling pages of pictures I wanted to add to the board.

This is what it looks like now. I still have some work to do, but a motivational board is a working process... there will always be change.

New To Working Out? How To Find An Activity You Love

Written By: Shannon Boyce

For a long time, exercise seemed like a chore. It was something to do rather than something to enjoy. I had tried pretty much every type of physical activity. From hip hop dancing to yoga to HIIT training and weight lifting. No matter what I did or what I tried... there did not seem to be a form of exercise that made me happy. So, I pushed through. I put in the time and did workouts that were uninteresting and unfulfilling.

Then it all changed. I managed to throw out my back. That severely limited the exercises I could do. Suddenly, I needed to be more mindful about the way I worked out. This led me to try beginning Pilates (to strengthen my core). Then aerobic dance (to work up a sweat without straining my back). There was something about these workouts that made me feel happy, connected, and proud. I was working out for longer periods of time. And I actually found myself looking forward to my next workout. What a bizarre concept!

Run 5K This Summer!

Written By: Shannon Boyce

It's good to have goals. They keep us motivated, push us forward, and provide a much-needed sense of purpose. Those goals might be small and simple or grandiose. It varies from person to person and moment to moment. Ideally? You want to have a mixture of both short term and long term goals. (One example? Finishing your summer book list vs. buying your first house.) Speaking of goals... there are many on my own life list. Like to run a 5K this summer. Care to join me? Keep reading to find out how you can check this particular goal off of your to do list.
