Honk Honk! Vroom Vroom! Choo Choo! - It's Party Time!

Hello Everyone,

On June 26th, we celebrated little man's 2nd birthday! Eek! I honestly think I was more excited about his birthday than he was (but isn't that the case with first time parents?)

His party theme was Automobiles, as he is obsessed with cars, trucks, planes and trains - anything with wheels under it basically. So, I incorporated a few different themes into one. Thankfully, he's very basic when it comes to automobiles. He knows who Thomas the Train is and the characters from CARS are, but he isn't focused on the brand. *Bonus points for this single mama: generic is a whole lot cheaper than brands.*

Our Early 4th of July Family Event!

Hello Everyone,

We celebrated our 4th of July yesterday, so we can use today to just relax, watch tv (which we usually don't do), play board games (while my son is napping) and veg out.

Yesterday is mine and my son's tradition day. Every year, since he's been born a take a face picture of him to add to the list... basically to see how much he's grown in a year (facially).

In just two years, he's grown so much... from a baby to a handsome little boy.

So, we went to the park yesterday to play, take some pictures, feed the turtles... after we got there I actually started questing myself as to why I put him in jeans in 103 degree weather. But, not to worry, he wasn't in them for long.

Here's To Our Future...

Since the 13th, my son and I have had some amazing adventures. There isn't a day from the past or in our future that I won't shield him from harm. Life is full of lessons, however, this lesson is mine, not his. A lesson that took 15 years for me to finally see the red flags that have constantly been SCREAMING at me, but because I was blinded by (what I can honestly thought to be) love - I've DEFINITELY woken up. However, I cannot hate myself for ignoring my inner instincts, but doing so, has brought me the most beautiful - totally unplanned - gift I could have ever received.
