I remember growing up that I always loved books, really I did. But I hated reading. I couldn't read (at what I thought was a good enough level) for quite a while. I think a big part of that, looking back, was that there weren't a lot of books I wanted to read. One of the big reasons I became a writer was because there weren't books that I knew about at my reading level that I wanted to read. So, today I wanted to share a post with some of the books I did love, and others I found later on that I've grown to love, in hopes that if you have a little one who isn't enjoying reading, you can help inspire them.

Bunnicula: A Rabbit-Tale of Mystery
It all starts when Harold's human family, the Monroe's, goes to see the movie Dracula, and young Toby accidentally sits on a baby rabbit wrapped in a bundle on his seat. How could the family help but take the rabbit home and name it Bunnicula? Chester, the literate, sensitive, and keenly observant family cat, soon decides there is something weird about this rabbit. Pointy fangs, the appearance of a cape, black-and-white coloring, nocturnal habits: it sure seemed like he was a vampire bunny.
